Elder Jonathan Linehan shares his faith via the internet
19 January 2011
ADELAIDE, Australia — 19-year-old New Zealander Jonathan Linehan is currently serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Adelaide. He recently created a profile on www.mormon.org in which he shares a little about himself and why he enjoys being a Latter-day Saint.
"I love RUGBY!" he writes on his profile. "Being from New Zealand the dream has always been to play for the All Blacks so I'm still working on that."
"I love Basketball also and support the Utah Jazz. When I go home I want to enter the defence forces and another dream is to fly the police helicopter!"
Explaining why he is a Latter-day Saint he says " because I know the Book of Mormon is true! I was brought up as a Mormon but growing up I didn't realise the blessing the gospel was. The Atonement is such a wonderful gift the Saviour has given us."
He also responds to frequently asked questions on his profile, such as "Why do Mormons pay tithing?" and "Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?"
